Description

This delicious eggnog bread is perfect for the holiday season!


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp ground nutmeg
  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ¾ cup sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup eggnog
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Optional: ½ cup raisins or chopped nuts

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, nutmeg, and cinnamon.
  3. In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in eggs, one at a time, then stir in vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add dry ingredients alternately with eggnog, mixing until just combined.
  6. Fold in raisins or nuts if using.
  7. Pour batter into prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
  8. Bake 40–45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  9. Let cool in pan 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
