- 3 cups fresh strawberries (sliced in half)
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp cornstarch (mixed with a little bit of water)
Instructions
- Prepare the strawberries by washing, hulling, and chopping them into halves.
- In a saucepan, combine sliced strawberries with granulated sugar and lemon juice. Cook over medium heat until bubbling.
- Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Mix cornstarch with a little water to form a slurry; add it to the saucepan while stirring continuously until thickened.
- Remove from heat and let cool completely before using or storing.
Notes
- This sauce can be used over ice cream, pancakes, or cheesecake.
- Store in a sealed container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
