Description

A delicious and easy strawberry sauce perfect for desserts.


Ingredients

  • 3 cups fresh strawberries (sliced in half)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp cornstarch (mixed with a little bit of water)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the strawberries by washing, hulling, and chopping them into halves.
  2. In a saucepan, combine sliced strawberries with granulated sugar and lemon juice. Cook over medium heat until bubbling.
  3. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Mix cornstarch with a little water to form a slurry; add it to the saucepan while stirring continuously until thickened.
  5. Remove from heat and let cool completely before using or storing.

Notes

  • This sauce can be used over ice cream, pancakes, or cheesecake.
  • Store in a sealed container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
