Description

A delicious bread made with rolled oats and warm milk.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1 cup warm milk (240ml)
  • 2 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1/4 cup warm water (60ml)
  • 1/4 cup honey (60ml)
  • 1/4 cup melted butter (60ml)
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour (375 g)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine warm milk, warm water, and honey. Sprinkle yeast on top and let sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  2. Add rolled oats, melted butter, ground cinnamon, and salt. Mix well.
  3. Gradually add all-purpose flour until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough for about 5-10 minutes until smooth.
  5. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour.
  6. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  7. Punch down the dough, shape into a loaf, and place in a greased loaf pan.
  8. Let rise for another 30 minutes.
  9. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown.
  10. Allow to cool before slicing.
