Description

Delicious and healthy ground chicken lettuce wraps flavored with chili seasoning and topped with fresh ingredients.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground chicken
  • 2 tablespoons chili seasoning (chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne)
  • 2 bell peppers, chopped
  • 810 leaves lettuce (iceberg or romaine)
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1 avocado, sliced
  • 1 cup shredded cheese
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 can black beans or kidney beans, drained and rinsed

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Ingredients: Start by gathering all your ingredients. Chop the bell peppers, and set aside your toppings.
  2. Cook the Chicken: In a large skillet over medium heat, add a splash of olive oil. Once hot, add the ground chicken. Cook until browned and no longer pink, breaking it apart with a spatula as it cooks, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Add Vegetables: Stir in the chopped bell peppers and cook for another 2-3 minutes until they soften.
  4. Season: Sprinkle in your homemade or store-bought chili seasoning. Add a splash of chicken broth or water to help distribute the spices evenly. Stir well and let it simmer for about 5 minutes.
  5. Prepare the Lettuce Wraps: While the chicken mixture is simmering, carefully separate the lettuce leaves. Rinse and pat them dry. These will serve as your wraps.
  6. Assemble the Wraps: Spoon the chicken chili mixture into the center of each lettuce leaf. Top with your choice of toppings, such as diced tomatoes, avocado, cheese, or sour cream.
  7. Serve: Enjoy immediately, either as finger food or with a fork and knife if you prefer.

Notes

  • These wraps can be customized with your favorite toppings.
  • For extra flavor, consider adding hot sauce or additional spices to the mixture.
