Description

A delicious homemade orange marmalade that is perfect for spreading on toast or using in recipes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 fresh navel oranges
  • 3 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 cups water
  • 1/4 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp butter

Instructions

  1. Wash the oranges thoroughly, cut them into quarters, and remove any seeds.
  2. Place quartered oranges in a large pot and cover with water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for about 30 minutes until soft.
  3. Stir in the granulated sugar and lemon juice until dissolved. Simmer for an additional 30-45 minutes until thickened, stirring occasionally.
  4. Pour hot marmalade into sterilized jars immediately, seal tightly, and cool at room temperature before refrigerating.

Notes

  • This marmalade can be stored in the refrigerator for several months.
  • Adjust the sugar to taste if you prefer a less sweet marmalade.
