- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 3 cups prepared mashed potatoes
- 1 tablespoon fresh chopped parsley (optional)
Instructions
- In a large skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef until browned. Drain most of the fat, leaving a small amount for flavor.
- Add chopped onion and garlic. Cook until onion is translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
- Sprinkle flour over the beef and stir well to coat. Cook for 1 minute.
- Slowly pour in beef broth while stirring constantly. Add Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
- Simmer for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thickened.
- Serve the beef and gravy over mashed potatoes. Garnish with parsley if desired.
