Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-5 minutes.
- Stir in the vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the all-purpose flour, mixing until just combined.
- Gently fold in the chopped maraschino cherries and mini chocolate chips if using.
- Form balls of dough and place them onto a baking sheet, leaving space between each.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes until edges are lightly golden.
- Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet before transferring to a wire rack.
